4.24.2009 | Award-Winning Decor & Photographer

We've had the pleasure of reviewing and choosing vendors well in advance of the big day thanks to the lengthy engagement. In this process, a couple of our vendors, specifically for décor and photography, have been receiving positive recognition.

Our event designer has won the 2009 Bride's Choice Awards and our photographer has been gracing the covers of Shore Bride Magazine and inside the pages of InStyle, Essence, and SOLACE.

I can't wait until their work for the wedding is out there so that I can reveal them to you!

4.21.2009 | Invitations Are DONE!

Finally. I only started the whole process in... JANUARY. See them here!

Finished invitation

The only thing I have left to do is to finish the announcements that are heading to Vietnam. They won't have the scroll for easier postage. We're heading to the post office today to send them on their way. I don't think it will be complete in one trip though since they'll be stamped boxed by box.

I made Karen the guinea pig and sent hers out last week. She received it yesterday and gushed! I'm excited. His mom also received all of the hand delivered invitations so a handful of people have received theirs too. She excitedly told me that everyone thought they were great. If you don't like them, don't tell me, lol.

Next: panels. I am REALLY looking forward to non-paper crafts. I can't wait to pick up my paint brush!

4.09.2009 | Late Engagement Photos

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO! I got a call from my sister and we're FINALLY going to get together to take some pre-wedding pictures downtown. I REALLY want to use these for table numbers.

We had pictures taken last October and they turned out good, but my sister is AWESOME at taking pictures of people and she's into fashion and art so her style meshes more with mine. This is exciting, I love working on creative projects with her.

She's coming into town next weekend so we're roaming the streets on Saturday. They have cool artwork up downtown that we did not get a chance to see last time.

Now, the more important thing... what to wear, what to wear?

4.07.2009 | My Little White Dress

Traditionally, Chinese and Vietnamese brides change their dresses throughout the reception several times. I will have a Vietnamese dress, the Ao Dai, a western, traditional white gown, possibly a Chinese Qipao and another party dress.

Lucky for me, designers have FINALLY come out with the Little White Dress. I LOVED shopping for the party dress as much as I loved shopping for my gown. Anyone who knows me knows I have a die-hard love affair with clothing and this is allowing me to be... me.

Little White Dresses

I received mine a week ago and I am so in love. Designer: Priscilla of Boston. You'll have to wait until the wedding to see it.

Any ideas on what it will look like?
