We're heading to Lansing this weekend to finalize the menu. Most of it was ready, but we needed to re-taste some of the dishes after the first tasting. We made a couple of suggestions and the chef happily is offering a second test.

I am also meeting up with our event designer so that we can figure out furniture placement and finalize all of the décor.

Last night, I finished a mockup of the menus. Donny loved it, so I am excited to start printing these after the weekend.



I LOVE it! I had to alter the colors slightly because we're printing them on creamy goldish color cardstock so it looks a little different. Tonight, I design the back which will be the "thank you" to all of our friends and family.

P.S. Looks like our farthest guest is coming! His auntie from Vietnam was just given the OK from the Vietnamese government to come to America for the wedding. I think they're going to take her to Vegas, California, and Niagara Falls after the wedding too so she gets a little more to take back to the motherland.

P.P.S. Speaking of Vegas... holy cow. We came back from the bachelor/bachelorette parties on Monday and I am STILL trying to recooperate. It was a LOT of fun. Best Idea Ever.

LOTS TO DO!

I love making things for the wedding, but the problem with a wedding is... there is a LOT to make. You don't just make ONE invitation and you're done with it. You make 200 more.

You don't make one panel, you've got 8 more to balance the room.

One escort card is not enough for all of the guests, etc.

I've been sewing and painting for the past 2 weeks. The house is in shambles! Luckily, Donny put his OCDness away and is understanding that it would be ridiculous and time-consuming for me to put everything away every night only to take it all out again after work each day.

He does have a couple of projects of his own. He is making our card box (his single creative contribution) and he is in charge of folding the napkins. He's been taking care of the logistical stuff with the venue, which to my slight disappointment, has needed to be hand-held.

After I finish panels, I'll be finishing up the pillows and attacking the dinner menus/programs.

Our Co-ed shower is this weekend and the girls have been fantastic planning everything. I am looking forward to spending more quality time with the bunch.

P.S. Last night, we had a REALLY COOL date that is wedding-related. I can't spill the beans quite yet, but I AM SO EXCITED!

My most recent obsession has been shoes. I have scoured the internet, stalked the stores, and debated over so many different styles and colors.

Finally. I am done. My tradtional dress is red and gold so these are the shoes!

Then, The second dress is the white gown, but I am going to wear lavender shoes and DIY-ing shoe brooches to replace the bling.

I AM SO EXCITED! I started wearing all of them around the house today to break them in... I will probably do some major shoe stretching so I don't ache, but that is most likely inevitable.
