DIY - Fascinator Hair Comb

The finished feather fascinator

I am changing my hair accessory for each dress that I am wearing. My last dress is a fun and flirty ivory dress (Melissa Sweet Mari) and I wanted a really different hair comb with a pop of color. My little sister wanted to make one of my hair fascinators for the wedding so she came over and we busted out the crafting caps.

Tools:
  • Hair comb base
  • Feathers
  • Faux flowers
  • Hot glue
  • Any other embellishment
There really is no step-by-step instruction other than we bought those materials above and she laid it out. We purchased a hair comb base from Hobby Lobby.

Then, we took the feathers/flowers and kept rearranging things until it was the right size and then hot glued everything layer by layer. Since this one was for a flirty dress, we wanted it to be big and colorful (wedding colors). It was really easy and in the end, she finished my third hair fascinator! Here it is in her hair.

I made a red and gold one for the traditional dress and a white one with bircage veil for my gown.

I followed the same steps. For the red one, I happened to stumble upon this cute red Swarovski comb.

Red Hair Comb

I bought a series of red feathers. Here's a fun one:

After following the same steps above, I finished!
