Real Wedding Feature on The Knot
This is our third feature on The Knot!On September 24th, I was contacted by one of the editors with The Knot in New York, Jaimie. She was really sweet and told me that she was going to write about us for a feature on Real Weddings!
I was pretty excited. Since I browsed The Knot often for ideas before the wedding, there are many photos from Real Weddings that are in my "scrap/idea" collection. This means that our photos will potentially be in other brides' collections one day! How cool =).
Typically, you have to submit your own wedding to be on Real Weddings. (See: How to be a feature.)
"Due to the high volume of submission, we will contact you only if we plan to use your pictures..."
...but they already did an interview with me for one the The Knot Live episodes, so they already had most of our story.
Anyway, she asked me questions about how we met, the proposal, etc, and then asked me to describe 16 photos. The 'eh' thing about not being the one to submit the photos is that I didn't choose them. I would have chosen different ones. But they went through our flickr site and selected 17 photos.
I described all of them and sent it back to her. I asked her not to use one of the photos since it was an image of our cake. Then, she took my answers and edited them for the feature. It went live on October 8, 2009! Here's the feature with some screenshots in case you don't want to sign up to The Knot.

The photos also get tagged and categorized on The Knot so that other brides can find them based on what they show. The selections above were categorized under: traditions, hair, bridal bouquets, bridesmaid looks, escort cards, purple, centerpieces, reception decor, and guest book.
