DIY - Thank You Card Labels

<< Back to DIY

Tools:
  • Graphic/logo - this is mine.
  • Staples® Sticker Paper
  • Fiskars rotary cutter with straight blade
  • Microsoft Word 2003 - Template coming soon
It's easy to make labels in Word using their tables. You can be elaborate and create .jpegs in Photoshop to print, but Word allowed me to maximize my space on the sticker sheets. I made a double-column, singe row table without borders. I sized it approximately one-inch tall just to start - you adjust based on the space needed for each address. I also maximized the margins on the page; note this below.

The cell on the left was right-justified and the cell on the right was left-justified.

Then, you fill in the first row with info.

I drew a rectangle around the row (kept it inside the top and bottom lines). The fill was removed and the line was thickened.

Then, you paste your image/logo/whatever into the cell and align it. (It is best to change the picture properties to "behind text"). You copy that row after it looks the way you want and keep pasting until you get your sheet full. Change the addresses in the right column. I printed them in full sheets.

DIY address label sheets

I cut the strips out using the fiskars rotary cutter.

Then I wrapped it around the envelopes after I wrote the thank yous.

I loved the way the wrap-around labels looked on the plain white envelopes - and it was so easy to do.
