I envisioned each place setting to have a delicate orchid tucked into the folds of a napkin. But for some reason, flowers are REALLY expensive, so I nixed the idea.
…until I thought about how Japanese, Chinese, and Koren brides fold 1,000 cranes for making wishes come true. A bride who folds 1,000 cranes will ensure a prosperous and happy marriage. Since I want one of those, I decided to put a spin on it.
I opted for origami lilies for each table setting instead of the cranes. Granted, we surely did not have 1,000 guests so maybe it was for parital good luck, hehe, but I loved that the original idea was mixed with an old tradition.
There’s probably only 50 here. These have not been curled. (I’ll post instructions at some point.)

Once you curl the petals, they look like this.

Here are the guys "curling" in the mancave.

Finally, they will be inserted into the napkin with the menu card like this.

Donny was the genius who came up with the napkin fold design. I am marrying him for his napkin folding skills. We will used these skills in the future to throw fancy parties.
